Once again I thought I'd do another entry dealing with information about the tights/pantyhose fetish. A blog user asked a question involving the origins of the fetish, so I decided to do an entry involving this. I don't know how many of you have thought about how you acquired the fetish, but I'll tell you a story about how I did and give my theory on the appeal with the hopes that you think about it yourself and share with me your own ideas.
To begin, when I was rather young (maybe 5 or 6 years old — preschool age) I encountered a number of sources dealing with tights in some way. There was a movie back then called All Dogs Go To Heaven with a girl named Anne Marie who wore blue tights. I used to think about her a great deal, watching the movie just to see her. One encounter that sticks with me to this day was us all sitting together in preschool on the floor and there was a girl wearing a dress and white tights, and even at that point without a sexual attraction to them, I knew that I really loved tights. Over the years, it became the titanic sexual turn-on that it is today as I had more and more experiences with it (what with peuberty and all.) Throughout middle and high school, I would periodically notice a girl wearing them and be very distracted by it. One day in particular in 6th grade and another in 7th, I can remember being very focused on it. As a fetish that involves parts of the body that can be seen anywhere in society, it's easy to experience at any time.
In long form, the fetish for me is women wearing tights or pantyhose. I prefer tights over pantyhose due to the extra opacity (more = better). Initially, that's as much as there was to it. Over time, it's become more and more refined, to where a woman wearing nothing (meaning no jewelry/makeup as well) but colored tights without reinforced heel or toe, tattering (runs/holes), spots that aren't tight against the woman's body (not put on properly/stretched out), objects placed between the woman and the tights/pantyhose in the leg/foot portions, would be the most stimulating thing I could think of, and deviation from the initial attributes (women wearing only colored tights) would reduce the turn-on, with the other things listed being noteworthy turn-offs. The fetish itself seems to be like having a second, soft and smooth skin over the person's own butt/vulva/legs/feet. This is why certain aspects involving them are turn-offs (things that detract from that perfectly smooth look).
As best as I can tell, the fetish is based around the garment being a surrogate skin over a person's own, as well as related to the garment's smooth, soft, and featureless nature, which is similar in many ways to a person's own skin, with it's sensual closeness to many already sexual portions of the body. This is also why I don't like seeing the garment torn or seeing it altered in any way other than an opening in the crotch made (as it's no longer smooth and featureless, radically altering it's appearance when this is done.) Human sexuality is a complex being, with a huge psychological element to it, so I don't know if it's as simple as something being "burned" into a person, but rather becomes an aspect of who they are, such as how who we are is the culmination of our memories and experiences and values and whatnot just through the process of learning new things, instead of simply anything physical, although since it's not known how exactly those 3 things are stored, they too could be physical.

I remember back then, i was watching this show late at night. I caught a few glimpse of the preview and i started to show interest in it. The female detective, Mitzi Kapture was puling up her sheer stockings, and i was captivated by it.
as a result, i kept watching this series, not for the storyline, but for the scenes.
Personally, like you, i prefer stockings/pantyhose to be in a good condition, instead of torn up or destroyed. the smooth surface, the touch, you know what i mean~ lol
I don't see too many TV show/movie characters wearing them, but I definitely fantisize about what they'd look like in them. ^_^ When a TV show/movie does have a scene that's interesting I often go hunting for a clip of it.
I actually watched the tape so many times that it broke (VHS was wonderful in that regard. -_-;;)
I've actually been wearing cable-knit cotton pantyhose when I was child. In the late 70s to early eighties in my country it was appropriate for boys under grade 6 or so.
So, for me the sensation of having the fabric stretched over my hips somehow reminds me kindergarten where I've experienced it first. There, I was also curious, whether there can be pantyhose for arms or covering the whole body. The latter idea, similar to "total encasement" or whatever they call it, I didn't know the word back then, I think, it caused my first sexual arousal.
As I grew older, I realized, that a lot of girls used to wear them. Around the age of nine the fetish kicked in and when I saw girls with tights in my class or on the schoolyard I pretty bluntly went over there and tried to "accidently" touch their legs. ^_^' It was an amazing experience, that never let me go since then.
I remember the TV show "The Nanny", where the two daughters of that Sheffield guy ALWAYS have worn white pantyhose (must have been around 30 den). I loved this show! ^^
And my current girlfriend, who's the best I ever had, because she's almost as nerdy as me, likes to wear tights/pantyhose/leggings, so she doesn't dislike my fetish at all.
I also don't like ripped or torn tights but I have a maybe odd liking. I like to see the "disappearing" of the covered legs in closed shoes (like chucks, vans, etc.), when you can see the ankles and you can imagine the lovely, warm, tight-covered feet in there! *__* And I like it, when the fabric is wrinkling a bit around the ankles or around the hollow of the knee. The look of those thigs is just great!

By the way, I actually find tearing through the fabric quite a turn-on. I think that's because torn pantyhose or tights carry the dichotomy of either a girl in some kind of distress or in a state of reckless sexual aggression. I'm a sucker for the psychology of power in sexual context, so that explains why it's sexy to me. I do consider going to the point that the pair of nylons is literally ripped to shreds horribly overdoing it though. :/
Recently I've been having a preference for black or dark blue nylons though and I'm also starting to find tights in bold colors really cute and sexy. You can guess that Natsumi from Kamen Rider Decade and the girls from K-On (that's not weird right?!) have me going @____@
It's funny, I actually went to a K-8 Catholic school but even though there were a lot of legs with tights, the girls mostly weren't good looking to me. There were a few that were, but I never tried sneaking in a rub because I was dissuaded really early from doing so when I tried it with one of my playmates at age 5 or 6. Not only did I get a beating from her but a scolding from both of our parents. I DID however try to sneak glances under skirts, and have to fight the habit to do so nowadays. xD

Tan pantyhose are highly disguised, which brings this thoughts up in me. It's not obvious but if you get to touch it somehow, you know! That's why I prefer them a bit more then others.
But dark ones like Yui wears them in K-ON have this "japanese schoolgirl factor", which is an extreme turn-on for me.

Well, she worked as a hotel manager, so she had to wear those Office lady suit and all kinds of pantyhose. Sheer, opaque, black colour mostly.
