Welcome Tights and Pantyhose Lovers!

Welcome to Domain of Deuxsonic!
Do you love videos, pictures, and stories of women in tights and/or pantyhose? If so, I think you're in for a treat that you'll really enjoy. Here, I can share my favorite tights/pantyhose media with you, someone who shares my fetish. If you need help using any of the media here, please consult the instructions in the sidebar. Thanks for visiting, and enjoy your stay!
Once again I thought I'd do another entry dealing with information about the tights/pantyhose fetish. A blog user asked a question involving the origins of the fetish, so I decided to do an entry involving this. I don't know how many of you have thought about how you acquired the fetish, but I'll tell you a story about how I did and give my theory on the appeal with the hopes that you think about it yourself and share with me your own ideas.
To begin, when I was rather young (maybe 5 or 6 years old — preschool age) I encountered a number of sources dealing with tights in some way. There was a movie back then called All Dogs Go To Heaven with a girl named Anne Marie who wore blue tights. I used to think about her a great deal, watching the movie just to see her. One encounter that sticks with me to this day was us all sitting together in preschool on the floor and there was a girl wearing a dress and white tights, and even at that point without a sexual attraction to them, I knew that I really loved tights. Over the years, it became the titanic sexual turn-on that it is today as I had more and more experiences with it (what with peuberty and all.) Throughout middle and high school, I would periodically notice a girl wearing them and be very distracted by it. One day in particular in 6th grade and another in 7th, I can remember being very focused on it. As a fetish that involves parts of the body that can be seen anywhere in society, it's easy to experience at any time.
In long form, the fetish for me is women wearing tights or pantyhose. I prefer tights over pantyhose due to the extra opacity (more = better). Initially, that's as much as there was to it. Over time, it's become more and more refined, to where a woman wearing nothing (meaning no jewelry/makeup as well) but colored tights without reinforced heel or toe, tattering (runs/holes), spots that aren't tight against the woman's body (not put on properly/stretched out), objects placed between the woman and the tights/pantyhose in the leg/foot portions, would be the most stimulating thing I could think of, and deviation from the initial attributes (women wearing only colored tights) would reduce the turn-on, with the other things listed being noteworthy turn-offs. The fetish itself seems to be like having a second, soft and smooth skin over the person's own butt/vulva/legs/feet. This is why certain aspects involving them are turn-offs (things that detract from that perfectly smooth look).
As best as I can tell, the fetish is based around the garment being a surrogate skin over a person's own, as well as related to the garment's smooth, soft, and featureless nature, which is similar in many ways to a person's own skin, with it's sensual closeness to many already sexual portions of the body. This is also why I don't like seeing the garment torn or seeing it altered in any way other than an opening in the crotch made (as it's no longer smooth and featureless, radically altering it's appearance when this is done.) Human sexuality is a complex being, with a huge psychological element to it, so I don't know if it's as simple as something being "burned" into a person, but rather becomes an aspect of who they are, such as how who we are is the culmination of our memories and experiences and values and whatnot just through the process of learning new things, instead of simply anything physical, although since it's not known how exactly those 3 things are stored, they too could be physical.

We all know and love tights and/or pantyhose, but how many actually know how their favorite garment is made? I decided to write this post for this very reason — to further enhance everyone's understanding of these wonderful garments. The best demonstration I've seen was shown in episode 2 of Discovery Channel's show about the manufacture of common items — How It's Made. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I thought I'd use their segment for this purpose. You can read the transcript for it, as well as watch it below.
Women appreciate that pantyhose come in a variety of colors, sheers, and textures. Us guys, we appreciate them too, maybe for different reasons. Making a nylon stocking takes only a few minutes. However, it's a complex operation that involves the knitting of 5 to 8 threads as fine as a hair. The threads, usually nylon and spandex, stong and elastic, are used. Sometimes, polyester or cotton are added. The knitting machine goes into action. This one fashions a tube for sheer stockings in 90 seconds. In 3 minutes, it makes a tube for tights. The speed is adjusted according to the product being made, varying between 750 and 1200 revolutions per minute. Once the tube is knitted, it is sucked up and lands in a bag where it will be inspected. More than 500 machines share the work, each making a model that is specific for it. The two ends must now be joined. This automated machine assembles the two tubes together to form the pantyhose. Then a scissors cut the pantyhose, a necessary step in the production of a pair. This opening is enlarged to allow for sewing that will join the two tubes at the point of the panty. The label with the size or brand name is already sewn in place in just 10 seconds by this robotic machine. At this pace it sews in 4,800 labels in 8 hours. Installing a gusset requires some preparation. A scissors makes a hole at the joining point. Then the stocking is turned inside-out by suction so that certain stitching can be done on the inside. Thus, these stitches will be less visible. Now the foot must be sewn. This robotic machine places the foot in position. Then the sewing machine makes stitches at the same time that cuts away excess material. This step requires only 10 seconds. Then the pantyhose is turned right-side-out, again using suction. Everything is ready for installation of the gusset. The pantyhose is placed in a tub and taken to this department. The stocking is again suctioned and placed on a gusset machine by the operator. This method ensures that the gusset will be installed well-centered without a pleat. Putting in the gusset is the final operation in the process. A pre-cut piece of cotton is slid into place reserved for the gusset and automatically sewn in. Only aesthetic touches remain, such as adding a little color to the pantyhose. They're placed in this machine, which has as a large drum with 4 compartments and a 45 kg capacity. The pantyhose are washed in soapy water, then immersed in dye. The temperature climbs gradually to 93 degrees celsius. After a 5-minute rinsing cycle, a softener is added. This all takes 2 and a half hours. Once dry, they proceed to inspection. The pantyhose is placed on a form which stretches it to allow for inspecting it for any imperfections. Is all is well, the pantyhose is transferred onto another metal form where it will be pressed. The pantyhose is positioned, guided by a magic eye. The pantyhose is then carried toward a steam room, remaining there for 2 and a half seconds before being dried in 7 and a half seconds at 140 degrees celsius. They fold and pack 420 pantyhose per hour and make 180,000 pairs per day.

Despite many videos featuring both tights and pantyhose, there still seems to be a great deal of confusion about the differences between tights and pantyhose amongst some users of the blog. In order to hopefully get everyone up to speed, I thought I'd compare and contrast the two in order to make their differences clear for everyone. The reason I'm covering this is because people typically prefer one over the other even if they don't know the terminology, so sharing this with them will hopefully allow to find content that closely matches their interest more easily.
To begin, I'm going by the American English usage of tights and pantyhose, as the British English usage uses 'sheer tights' in place of 'pantyhose'. Either usage is fine, except that on the blog I'm using the former.
Tights and pantyhose, simply put, are different by their opacity — tights are more opaque than pantyhose. There's no real line that separates them, making identification of them in a situation subjective, but the 2 main ways of identificiation are based on appearance when worn and denier, which is the measure of the thickness of the thread used to knit the garment, which determines how transparent the final product is. In an even broader scope, tights and pantyhose are are leg garments that extend from the waist down to the tip of the toes without any openings in that distance with the exception of the crotch (a missing gusset.) Garments that don't fit this criterium are outside of my own fetish and outside of what the blog will cover.
Tights typically mask the skin tone underneath and toe detail to a greater degree than pantyhose due to the increased opacity. This means that with tights, there may be portions of the covered area which have the skin tone mostly or entirely obscured. Tights generally color and hide what is underneath, while pantyhose tint it. In terms of denier, tights start at around 40, although this is not always the case, as different pairs of the same denier may have higher or lower opacity due to color, pattern, and other factors. Dark colors tend to appear more transparent than light colors due to the difference in color between skin tone and garment. To get a sense of how the denier scale works, a denier of 10 would be very transparent, 40 would be moderately transparent, 80 would be moderately opaque, and 120 would be very opaque. To see the difference, compare the entries under the tights and pantyhose tags. If you have any more questions, you can ask me directly or post it in a comment.
